This animated anthology series features original stories set in the world of iconic video games. Video games have made a huge leap to the screen, and we’re celebrating the genre with a closer look at over 50 video game adaptations in movies and shows. Clive Standen voices Demetrius Titus, the protagonist of the video game Space Marine 2. The episode takes place after the events of the game.. Link to Movie Junk Podcast: Episode 973: Carry-On (2024). The animation is gorgeous, there’s no denying that. But it’s hard to get excited about short episodes like this. They feel like the trials of an apprentice. You can’t quite get into it because you know it’s over before you can even connect with the characters. It was nice to see some celebrity involvement. Reeve and Arnie play nice roles. It’s all a bit too experimental and lacking in depth for me. Also, if I had the choice of source material. I think I would have chosen a completely different set of games that I would have respected. The Pacman episode was o.k. But it was a demonstration of the absolute limits of artistic license. At least it made me laugh. Overall, the whole series seemed a bit underwhelming. 6 for visuals.
