In 1950s Mexico City, an American immigrant in his forties lives a solitary life in the midst of a small American community. However, the arrival of a young student causes the man to finally form a meaningful connection with someone. Daniel Craig was ultimately the one who convinced Luca Guadagnino to play Drew Starkey after watching Guadagnino’s audition tapes and telling him “He’s. The overall meaning is to explore the loneliness of a queer heart, the difficulty of connecting with others, the pain of not being able to be loved, and the complex emotions of depression. But the performance technique is very stream of consciousness, especially the last 20 minutes, which have almost no lines and are used to fully express the male protagonist’s inner world through various blurs, hallucinations and abstract art forms. Although I understood what the director wanted to express, the form of expression might not be acceptable to the audience, and at some point I wanted to leave the stage.
