Salesman: The glass is unbreakable, so your table will last forever. Part 1 (2024). Jesus and Mary start not in a manger, but in a furniture store, where a bossy salesman relentlessly tries to sell them a coffee table.
The sleazy piece contains “fake gold”; nude female figures and what the man describes as “unbreakable”; glass
The new mother is a little teething and the couple seems to be going through a rough patch in their marriage. The first ten minutes could be described as comedy, but halfway through, things take a dark turn. Jesus needs to assemble a coffee table and an accident causes his world to fall apart, and the final act is as well done as anything I’ve ever seen.
Don’t miss Coffee Table
The ten-day shoot is a marvel these days, and the script is concise and intelligent. A solid 9/10. Don’t miss this gem.
