Tale
Jackal is an elusive killer who earns his living by committing murders for the highest payment. Soon he meets a worthy rival in the face of a persistent British intelligence officer, who pursues him in an exciting cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The action of the novel takes place in 1963 and is connected with the attempt on the then president of France, Charles de Gaulle.
A remake of The Day of the Jackal (1973)
Yes, it’s a reboot, but they make it a great first one. Redmayne is great in the role of a cold-blooded jackal killer! Excellent landscapes in some beautiful corners of Europe.
Keeps you in suspense throughout the process
The only detractor is a female MI6 chief agent, polite and unimaginative. Since this is one of my favorite books, I was skeptical of the second remake after the train wreck that was Bruce Willis’ move. However, Day of the Jackal grabbed my attention from the very beginning and held it in suspense for the first five episodes.
Although overall the series is very entertaining
I hope the rest of the season will reach the first half. The new season of Shiloh is one of the biggest television and streaming premieres this month. See details in our calendar for November!
